What I'm learning about AI outputs that are actually useful

Building with LLM APIs has shown me that useful AI features need structure, constraints, and clear output formats - not just a prompt box and a response.

AI workflows / Product thinking

  • structured outputs

What I was learning

I was learning how to shape AI outputs so they become useful product features instead of loose generated text.

Why it matters

AI-assisted products are more useful when the output has a purpose, a structure, and a clear next action.

Where I applied it

ProjectDrop applies this through summaries, action steps, reports, and coding-agent handoffs.

What clicked

The prompt is only part of the product. The format, constraints, and workflow around the output matter just as much.

What I still need to improve

I still need to keep refining output schemas, limits, and failure states so generated results stay reliable.
